Cushion / Press On Forklift Tires
Cushion tires are designed for use on most indoor solid surfaces, such as concrete. They are made of solid rubber, built around a metal band.
These tires are also available in non-marking variety.
Unlike pneumatic tires (see below) the “cushion” forklift tire does not use air. Rather, the “cushion” refers to the smooth rubber between the load and the surface. Cushion forklifts are typically low to the ground, are comfortable, and provide a good turning radius.
Typically used indoors in warehouses.
Liftec carries MITCO, SOLIDEAL, RHINO, TRELLEBORG, DURALIFT, SUPERIOR-FALCON, and MILLENIUM among others.
Pneumatic Forklift Tires
The term pneumatic refers to “compressed air or gas under pressure.” These tires are similar to conventional truck tires in that they are inflated with air (and are sometimes foam filled). There are two types of pneumatic tires: solid and air.
Solid pneumatic tires are made of rubber and are designed to handle potential punctures. These tires are also available in non-marking variety.
Air pneumatic tires are filled with air or another substance. Again, these are designed to be sturdy over uneven or rough terrain.
Pneumatic tires can be used on many outdoor surfaces including hard packed gravel or dirt.
